A TEAM tasked to investigate the cause of a plane crash at Kombakor airstrip in Simbai, in Madang, visited the crash site yesterday.
Madang Governor Jim Kas, who accompanied the team, said the investigators would write an assessment report to justify the cause of the accident.
Kas said Kombakor airstrip, where the single engine Island Airways plane crash landed, was located in his village.
He said there was no road excess to the area and currently the crashed plane was the only one that provided services in Kombakor and surrounding areas. He said services into remote areas of Madang would be affected with the loss of the plane.
The single engine plane, which that could carry only four passengers, crashed during landing at Kombakor airstrip on Monday.
Two passengers and the pilot survived the crash.
