A FOREIGN alluvial mining investor has shown interest in working with locals in Wau, Bulolo, Morobe, in developing the sector in the district.
The Mining Seconds Alluvial Mining company operations manager Matthew Yeung said on Monday the company was keen to work with local leaseholders in Wau and Bulolo. Yeung signed an agreement with mining leaseholder Dick Koromeng to work together on his mining lease.
“We came from China and are happy to work with you,” Yeung told Koromeng.
Mining Seconds brought their own machines which were assembled in the past few weeks.
They include an excavator, trommel, shaking table and conveyor belt.
Yeung said they were ready to commence work on the mining leases (ML 916 and 917) as soon as their application was approved.
It expects to provide about 20 jobs. Alan Gualin, representing Koromeng, confirmed the joint venture partnership agreement with Mining Seconds.
Gualin said they were waiting for the granting of the mining licence.
“Our application has gone through the screening process.
“We are just waiting for the Mining Minister to grant us the licence,” Gualin said.
