ENGA Governor Peter Ipatas has chartered a plane to fly Mioks supporters from the province to Port Moresby to watch their team do battle in the bemobile Cup grand final on Sunday.
It will cost Mr Ipatas around K90,000 to charter the Air Niugini F100 plane to fly Toyota Enga Mioks supporters from Enga to Port Moresby via Mt Hagen to watch the bemobile Cup grand final against the Agmark NGIP Rabaul Gurias.
Mr Ipatas said yesterday that he had already arranged with Air Niugini to fly in the supporters from Mt Hagen on Saturday afternoon.
He said the reason for the charter was to “relieve supporters back home who have already purchased their plane tickets but have been put on waiting list or missed out due to seats being fully booked by other Air Niugini customers”.
He said he chartered the plane to allow the people to see their boys play the grand final on Sunday.
“Only those who have bought their two-way ticket will board the plane to watch the match in Moresby and will leave on Tuesday on the same charter plane,” Mr Ipatas said.
Most of the supporters who had already booked their tickets were likely to travel from Enga to Mt Hagen by road today or early tomorrow morning to board tomorrow afternoon’s charter flight to Port Moresby, he said.
