Ipatas Cup SHP leg winners confirmed

POROMA Nuggets, Asi Bulldogs and Hela Two have won gold passes after finishing first in their respectful pools in the Southern Highlands leg of the Ipatas Cup at the Joe Keviame Oval in Mendi over the weekend.
The Southern Highlands leg had 20 teams from Hela and Southern Highlands compete in three pools.
Tournament coordinator Solomon Kyakas said Pools A and B had completed their matches which saw three teams earning spots for the regional leg to be held in Jiwaka.
He told The National that Pool C, made up of teams from Mendi, would complete its matches this weekend.
Six teams will compete for the remaining gold pass.
The Pool-A clashes saw six teams, four from Hela and two from Mendi, play three games each.
Nuggets finished first after they won all their three games against Hela One, Pori Rockies and Hela Two.
“All the teams were competitive last weekend,” Kyakas said.
“We had former Kumul forward David Loko leading the Bulldogs and Enga Mioks’ Andrew Ipi playing with the Nuggets.”
