DEFENCE Force Commander Brigadier-General Gilbert Toropo launched a K24 million catering service involving the Ipi Catering Company at Murray Barracks in Port Moresby on Friday.
This five-year contract was signed on March 10 at Government House by Governor-General Bob Dadae.
Ipi Catering will also provide services to other military establishments around the country.
Toropo said the contract was important.
“It is true that an army marches on its stomach. And we want to keep our servicemen and women well-nourished and healthy,” he said.
“This will also boost the morale and enable higher levels of training output.”
