IRC Lae team praised

Letters

FOR once I should use this space to say something positive for a Government organisation that is providing very good customer service to the public in Lae, Morobe.
The Internal Revenue Commission (IRC) team at Gavman Haus in Lae’s Top Town should be commended for the prompt attendance to customers at the counter and quick turn-around in service queries and requests.
I believe more small businesses will come forward to be assisted and participate in the formal economy. The recent comments by the IRC commissioner-general Sam Koim, that all bureaucratic processes that hinder small and medium enterprises will be removed and replaced by a K400 tax on those that generate annual revenues of over K50,0000 is a good news and should be commended.
Such bold and innovative thinking brought about by Koim is well overdue in the public service and should be encouraged.
Once again, well done IRC Lae and the commissioner-general, keep up the good work.
