Is there a dictatorship in the making?

THE term “dictator” is generally used to describe a leader or group of leaders who holds and/or abuses an extraordinary amount of personal power, especially the power to make laws without effective restraint by a legislative assembly.
Dictatorships are often characterised by some of the following traits:
l    Suspension of elections and of civil liberties;
l    Proclamation of a state of emergency;
l    Rule by decree;
l    Repression of political opponents without abiding by rule of lawful procedures; and
l    Personality cult.
This definition best describes the current O’Neill-led regime if it continues to ignore the Supreme Court orders.
If the coalition parties repress the political opponents without abiding by the rule of law, which is the Supreme Court, that is dictatorship.
I believe the free education and the free healthcare policy are political ploys.
If the government is serving the interest of the people of PNG, why tamper with the Constitution?
The Constitution is what makes us an independent nation and a peaceful one for the past 36 years.
It is the very foundation of our country.
The RPNGC should know better as it is the custodian of our Constitution.
In the meantime, I do not see a future in the horizon for we have sinned and are heading for the storm.
God bless PNG.
