Isapea name 44-man train-on squad

 GULF Isapea selectors have named a 44-man training squad for the 2016 Digicel Cup competition.

Isapea chairman Jacob Ivaroa said the squad was named after the trials involving almost 400 players from New Year till the end of January.

Ivaroa said a selection had been made and the final 44 players had been selected to trial against the Port Moresby Vipers at Murray Barracks Oval on March 5.

Ivaroa said most of the players from last season were retained but this was not the final 25-member squad

Ivaroa, on behalf of the Isapea board, thanked the young players for showing interest and participating in the trials. 

“Your records will be maintained and we shall consider your involvement during the season,” Ivaroa advised the players who missed out on selection.

Ivaroa said the two sides, Gulf Crab and Gulf Fish would face-off with the Vipers.
