Isolate centre

Letters

THIS is a good initiative by the Government as per what appeared in The National yesterday (Feb 6) on page 2 Civil Aviation Minister Lekwa Gure wanting to build an incubation centre at the old airport terminal in Port Moresby to quarantine passengers travelling from coronavirus-affected countries and quarantine them for 14 days.
This will prevent the spread of the virus.
However, it is in the best interest of the population of PNG that the incubation centre should not be built in the city where people are.
We suggest that the minister reconsider his decision and build the incubation centre further away from the city.
For example, build the incubation centre in Loloata Island, or otherwise keep them in the ship and quarantine them there.
Countries like Australia and others are building their incubation centre further away from their main cities.
For example, Australia built its incubation centre at the Christmas Island.
Others also have their incubation centre in a ship for 14 days.
