GULF Isou continued their perfect start with a 22-16 win over Central Dabaris in round two of the Digicel Cup in Port Moresby yesterday.
Dabaris, however, were first to open the scoring through winger Douglas Pirika who bagged a double.
Despite Pirika’s efforts to give the Steve Gunua-coached team an early lead, Isou recruit and former Guria Eliakim Lukara put in a solid performance to help claim the victory at the National Football Stadium.
Isou coach Roger Laka said the team could have won by a higher margin, but their attack was not up to scratch on several occasions.
“We didn’t play well, but it’s good to get the win,” he said. “We took the wrong options in attack.
“We could have scored more points if we got the plays right.”
Laka said their round-three game against Goroka Lahanis would see an unchanged line-up.
