Isou kept winless in Southern Super League

GULF Isou Development suffered their second-straight loss of the Southern Super League National Gaming Control Board Cup going down 6-8 to Koiari Nagavas in their round two fixture at Sogeri on Sunday.
The result sees the Isou at the bottom of the standings.
The first half was played in dry conditions good for open football but the final 40 minutes were affected by afternoon rain.
This took its toll on both sides but the visiting Gulf men botched four try-scoring chances through poor execution or handling errors.
The Isou may have had the more experienced lineup but that counted for little in the cooler atmosphere of Sogeri as they were harried and hustled by a more aggressive side.
Nagavas scored through outside centre Samadim Mark and added a penalty goal through five-eighth Morris Kutu for a 6-0 lead at halftime.
Isou winger Charlie Horope showed a clean pair of heels touching down in 46th minute for his side to trail 6-4.
Gulf drew level in the 58th when halfback Sinori Graham slotted a penalty goal.
With conditions proving difficult points were at a premium and Nagavas earned a penalty against a tiring Gulf side in the 69th mark and No.7 Junior Max stepped up to kick his side to an 8-6 lead.
As the field became wetter and the ball harder to handle both sides found their offence ineffective with a mounting error count over the final 11 minutes.
