Isuzu Cup into second week of comp

CRICKET Papua New Guinea (CPNG) is into its second week of the Isuzu Cup 50-over competition with three men’s and women’s teams each at Amini Park in Port Moresby.
National Capital District (NCD) Capitals, Mamose Warriors and Normil Pirates include men’s and women’s national players who will be competing until the end of this month.
Following the 50-over competition will be the Isuzu Bash with the inclusion of Australian-based Barramundis as well as head coach Carl Sandri and Lewas head coach Kath Hempenstall overseeing the tournament.
CPNG general manager Tony Naidu said due to the weather during the week, some matches had been rescheduled for this weekend.
“New teams Normil Pirates, Mamose Warriors and NCD Capitals have men’s and women’s teams made up of the best players in the country,” Naidu told The National yesterday.
Fixtures: Fri, May 20 — NCD Capitals Women v Mamose Warriors Women; Mon, May 23 — NCD Capitals Men v Normil Pirates Men.
