THE International Training Institute (ITI) in Port Moresby yesterday continued their support of the Port Moresby Cricket Association (POMCA) by giving a K3,000 sponsorship to the competition.
The sponsorship is part of ITI’s K25,000 pledged to POMCA for this season.
The managing director and president of ITI, Kumaran Sentheyval, said the pledge from ITI will benefit junior cricket.
Yesterday’s sponsorship brings the progressive total to K5,000 with K20,000 still available for cricket development in Port Moresby.
In the past ITI had been a huge sponsor of Central province cricket through Cricket PNG, however, due to administrative issues ITI opted to redirect its sponsorship to POM Cricket to benefit youth development in the city.
The new chairman of POMCA Patrick Amini, on, behalf of the POMCA board and players, thanked ITI’s commitment which he said would help their cause.
He said the money would be used to maintain the cricket grounds around the city and meet administration costs.
