THE International Training Institute has opened its new campus in Mt Hagen. It is the eighth in the country and second in the highlands region.
The institute was established in March 1999 and has centres in Port Moresby, Lae, Kokopo, Kimbe, Alotau, Kavieng and Goroka.
Managing director Senthil Kumaran Sentheyval, Mt Hagen City Authority chief executive officer Leo Noki and Barry Rungwa representing Western Highlands Governor Paias Wingti opened the facilities on Tuesday.
Sentheyval said they wanted to bring education closer to the people by establishing centres around the country.
“ITI provides exceptional training with great facilities which would certainly meet your expectations,” Sentheyval said.
ITI administration manager Namah Makindi thanked Sentheyval and the management for bringing the institute to the third largest city.
Pungwa said Wingti rated education as a priority for the development of human resources.
“Western Highlands has no minerals like other provinces. It wants to build itself on human resource,” he said.
