The International Training Institute (ITI) is looking towards offering degree programmes by the year 2020, according to the managing director.
Managing director Senthil Kumaran Sentheyval, speaking during ITI’s 52nd graduation in Port Moresby, said: “It is quite a long process, but we are optimistic about it and we are taking it step by step.”
He said they are working on the application which they would submit to the Department of Higher Education, Research, Science and Technology (DHERST) by next month, and upon approval, they would start the degree programmes in 2020.
ITI has 10 campuses around the country with one distance learning centre in Kokopo.
The degree programmes will be first carried out by the Port Moresby campus and later to the other campuses.
Courses to be offered in the degree programmes are accounting, management, marketing, and human resource management. Information technology will be included later.
