The International Training Institute (ITI) yesterday donated over 1,000 Trukai Fun Run shirts to schools in Port Moresby as part of their community obligation.
Kaugere Primary and Saint Therese Elementary and Primary were the recipients of Fun Run T-shirts sponsored by ITI.
This year, ITI purchased K21,000 worth of T-shirts for the annual Trukai Fun Run which saw them receive 2,100 units.
ITI marketing manager Semi Rose said yesterday that the T-shirts would be distributed to primary and secondary schools in Port Moresby and around the country.
Rose said ITI was happy to assist the schools by way of providing the T-shirts to help generate income.
“Since 2012, ITI has participated in bidding and donating Trukai Fun Run T-shirts,” she said.
“We’ve donated close to 10,000 shirts.
“This is part of our community service. We are giving back to the community to help the schools to provide funds for them to use for their activities.
“We are very happy to be doing this every year and we will keep participating.”
Other schools that ITI will present T-shirts to are Kilakila Primary, Kilakila Secondary and Gerehu Secondary.
Arere Peter, the head teacher of Saint Therese Elementary, said the T-shirts had enabled schools to earn some extra income to carry out some of their activities in sports or buying materials for students and teachers.
