JAPAN has contributed US$30,000 (K96,000) to the Ramar Convention (RC) to organise an advisory body for the PNG Government.
The Japanese Embassy said the money was to be used to promote environmental management in the oil and gas industry around Lake Kutubu, Southern Highlands and the Ramsar site.
RC will provide training to and build capacity within the PNG Government to improve permits and better manage and monitor the operation of the oil and gas sector.
