JDA Wokman partners with Velosi Group

ONE of Papua New Guinea’s leading recruitment companies JDA Wokman Ltd has gone into partnership with a multinational environmental and safety company to work in the oil and gas sector in PNG.
JDA Wokman was recently acquired by Velosi Group, with founding chief executive of the company Dr Nabil Abd Jalil in the country for the past two days meeting with JDA Wokman.
Jalil said they were interested to work with the company because the it had been in the country for a long time and had vast experience with the people and the different cultures here
He said they would like to tie up with JDA Wokman to invest in emerging resource projects in PNG.
Jalil said their strategy with JDA Wokman would be based on developing human resources and maximising competitiveness.
He said national employees would have the opportunity to go for training in various places where their offices were based to have cross-cultural experiences.
The Velosi Group was founded in 1982 by Jalil and it specialised in providing asset integrity, health, safety and environment, quality assurance, quality control and engineering services to a number of leading and multinational oil and gas companies like BSP, Shell, Chevron, Exxon- Mobil and others.
The Velosi Group operated through five regional headquarters in the USA, the UK, Malaysia and South Africa.
JDA Wokman general manager Stephen Grey said they were pleased to partner with Velosi Group to train and develop their staff.
He said JDA’s personnel were mainly nationals after its expatriate staff were reduced significantly.
