AIR Niugini last Friday uplifted part of the 4.5 tons of relief supplies donated by Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) from Port Moresby to Fiji for people affected by Cyclone Winston.

The relief supplies in 225 boxes containing mattresses, tents and plastic rolls were donated by JICA in Singapore.

Air Niugini delivered the supplies from Singapore to Port Moresby last Thursday and onto Nadi in Fiji last Friday. Since Cyclone Winston swept through Fiji last  weekend, at least 42 deaths were reported, thousands homeless and millions of dollars worth of damage to properties and infrastructure.
