Jimi league gets lifeline from LLG

 A LOCAL level government council president in Jiwaka has committed K40,000 to help fund a league in the province.

Local level government president of middle-lower Jimi James Kokun has committed K40,000 to the Jimi league.

Kokun who is also the patron of the Jimi league made his commitment after Governor Dr William Tongamp gave K50,000 each to the 10 leagues in the province.

Jimi league interim president John Kevin said that his support is to help the youths and promote rugby league in the electorate.

Kevin said that Jimi is one of the most remote areas that border Madang and Western Highlands.

He said that rugby is new to he area due the lack of proper facilities and support.

Kevin said that his management team of Kokun, treasurer Steven Kamnga, and secretary Ruth Kerenge are working hard to launch the league at Jimi.
