Jiwaka teams seeking sponsorship

JIWAKA is seeking sponsorship for its select sides to compete in a two-day National Schools Rugby League Highlands trials to be held at the Jonah Ambane Oval, Minj, from Saturday.
“The officials of Jiwaka schools rugby league have been running our competition without a major sponsor for the last eight years,” coordinator Gele Kupo said.
“We are now kindly asking if organisations or individuals can come to our aid as sponsors.”
The competition is played by primary, high and secondary school students across the U14, U16, and U18 divisions.
“We need funds for balls, match officials’ uniforms and payments, photocopying, typing, medical assistance, jerseys, lawn mowers, field iron posts, post pads and awards,” Kupo said.
“We have no jerseys for all our sides, no transport and no money.”
He said they were pushing the teams for the development of the code from the schools level.
Those who are willing to support Jiwaka’s cause can contact Kupo on 734 956 97 or 785 351 42, or via email ([email protected]). League manager Nebare Poi can also be contacted on 718 546 75 or via email ([email protected]).
