A JOINT training programme in leadership skills between the Pacific Institute of Leadership and Governance (Pilag) and South Pacific Brewery, through its SP Foundation (SPBF), was launched for 39 participants from the Highlands last Friday.
SP Brewery corporate affairs manager John Nilkare said the development and delivery of training in leadership and governance programme represented a commitment by SP Brewery.
The programme is a way to contribute towards the development of young generation of leaders in public service to lead in the service delivery of basic goods and services to the people.
SPBF has partnered with Pilag, as the Government-mandated training provider for public servants, to improve capacity-building by rolling out the training.
Nilkare said the certificate in leadership and governance programme received an annual funding of K250,000 from SP Brewery through its foundation aimed at improving public goods and service delivery at the sub-national level.
He said that the programme was for five years from March 2016.
He said SP Brewery approved another five-year period for the programme, which will end in 2026.
