Iranian–British journalist and British Broadcasting Commission (BBC) film-maker Benjamin Zand is in the country to produce a documentary on the Royal PNG Constabulary.
Police Commissioner Gari Baki granted BBC the permission to film police in Port Moresby.
The filming in Port Moresby is part of a new documentary series for BBC television and online that would feature and promote the work of police in Port Moresby and worldwide.
Filming started last Thursday with the Family and Sexual Violence Unit
Zand will also accompany a police routine patrol within the city.
National Capital District Task Force commander Mark Mosinakave will accompany the BBC crew for the filming.
Crew and producer Alexander Nott, who accompanied Zand, said they do not have the intention to misrepresent police here, but to feature and promote their work on BBC television and online.
Nott said such promotion of police work would motivate officers to do their jobs with pride, honour and respect for the civilians.
