TWO boys aged 11 and 13 facing rape charges have been given strict bail conditions by the National Court, including home confinement between 6pm and 6am.

Justice Panuel Mogish increased their bail from K300 to K500 and adjourned the matter to March 24 for mention. He warned the boys to abide by the court orders.

“The trouble committed by you two is big and if by any chance you step out of line, I will not hesitate to send you to Bomana,” Mogish said.

“Out of common sense, the trouble committed by little boys like you is big and you could get life imprisonment for it.”

They were committed to the National Court for trial by the Committal Court. Mogish warned them to report to the court registry between 9am and 3pm every Monday.

“You are not to leave the city and you must both stay at your current residential areas,” he said.

“You are not to go to 9-Mile settlement at any time until the case has been disclosed because that was where the offence was committed.”

Mogish ordered them to stay in their homes between 6pm to 6am daily and must not drink alcohol or smoke marijuana.

They must not associate with other youths in the settlement.

An investigating officer has been ordered to monitor their movements while they are out on bail.
