Only five women who showcased their products during the two-day Apec Policy Partnership on Women and Economy for Southern Region workshop and expo will participate in the Apec Summit in November.
This was revealed by executive-director of the Office for Development for Women Gayle Tatsi last Friday at the end of the two-day expo
“All of you are winners but only five will be selected by the judges,” Tatsi told the 20-plus participants who came from Milne Bay, Gulf, Western, Central and National Capital District.
During the expo at Rita Flynn Indoor Complex, judges went through products and services displayed by the women.
Tatsi told The National that next month, a similar expo would be held for the women in Momase and Highlands, with five from each of these regions to be selected.
New Guinea Islands was the first to have its expo last November
“Twenty women, five each from the four regions, will be accredited into the Policy Partnership on Women and Economy arena and have their displays,” Tatsi said.
“They will be selling and showcasing their products.”
“The (Apec) Forum will have 21 economies which will want to see how we are encouraging and empowering the women.”
