Juffa slams youth’s killing

NORTHERN Governor Gary Juffa has condemned the killing of a youth during a confrontation between police and a group of men from a logging camp last week.
Juffa said the issue was before his office and it was a concern to the people.
“I have received a petition from the father of the deceased with demands and my office will review and respond in due time,” he said.
Juffa assured the family and the people that an investigation would be carried out to determine the cause of the conflict.
“I have spoken to Police Minister Brian Kramer and his team and they will ensure that an independent investigation team will travel to Oro and conduct investigations to determine the facts and take necessary action based on those facts,”he said.
Juffa said the confrontation arose from the issue of logging in the province.
He has also slammed landowners in the province for selling land without the consent of other clans and their citizens who had no consultation and benefit from the projects.
