Justice Hartshorn to serve for another three years

JUSTICE Derek Richard Hartshorn has been reappointed as a Supreme and National Court judge.
Justice Hartshorn signed his oath of office, declaration of loyalty and declaration of judiciary before Governor-General Sir Michael Ogio at Government House in Port Moresby, yesterday.
He has been reappointed for a term of three years, effective on Feb 13.
Justice Hartshorn was sworn-in under the powers of section 170 (2) of the Constitution and section 2 (3) of the organic law on terms and conditions of employment of judges.
Witnessing his swearing-in was his wife Julie, Chief Justice Sir Salamo Injia, British High Commissioner Jackie Barson, Justice Catherine Davani, Justice Collin Makail, Justice Les Gavara-Nanu, Justice Ere Kariko, Justice Panuel Mogish, family, friends and members of the Royal Papua New Guinea Constabulary.
