Siawara United and 289 K-Woodies stood tall in the round 13 clash of the Boroko off-season rugby league competition at Unagi Oval yesterday.

The game rolled out well, with both sides showing strong defence.

However, Siawara United second rower Mauhe Bulage took advantage of a drop ball at the Woodies 10-metre line and touched down  in the corner, pushing his side ahead 4-0 in the 11th. The conversion failed.

K-Woddies winger Duaa Ricky went into the corner but the touch judge ruled he had gone out of bounds.

United depended on skipper and lock Junior Dege, who displayed all his strength with massive breaks great off-loads.

United held onto the 4-0 lead half-time.

K-Woodies skipper and lock Hewape Aiba wasted no time after  the break, running in to score to level the score.
