With little funding from the Government under the special intervention programme to each district in the country, Paita distributed funds to each councillor in Finschhafen.
“This year the 17 wards in the Hube LLG, K1.6mil has been committed for the councillors,” he said.
“The money is for projects in each ward the LLG and the engaging of a contractor is at the disposal of each councillor.”
Apart from the ward councillors’ projects, the district bought about 5,000 solar lights for students in the LLG to use for their studies .
Paita said the solar light were durable and were manufactured in the United States.
He said the solar light projects were part of the districts’ rural electrification programme.
Paita also announced other projects such as, the building and construction of a market for mothers at Pindiu and Doi resource centre.
He personally donated a Landcruiser to help mothers transport garden produce to Gagidu.
