K100,000 boost for Central

 TEAM Central received K100,000 last Friday courtesy of Kairuku Hiri MP Peter Isoaimo for their PNG Games campaign.

The team will bring a 487-strong contingent to participate in 25 of the 29 codes to be played during the Games in Lae from November 16-29. 

Team manager Marina Faiteli said the majority of the contingent was from Kairuku-Hiri and it was pleasing to see their open member support the team.

“We are very happy with our MPS and would like to work together with them,” Faiteli said.

Team Central came third in the last PNG Games and this time are hoping to finish with a better result.

“We want to prepare well and do our province and sponsors proud,” Faiteli said.

She called on sponsors who had made commitments to ensure the support was given as the games were three months away.   

Isoaimo said more support would be given to sports in the province as it was a great way of developing its talent.
