K16 million for schools in Huon

MORE than K16 million from RESI funds will be allocated to schools throughout the Huon district, Morobe province, to help develop school facilities.
This money is now in the Huon district trust account and would be allocated to 33 schools in the district.
Allocation of these funds should be carried out next week, according to a press statement issued yesterday from the office of Huon Gulf MP Sasa Zibe.
Mr Zibe, who is also Health Minister, said that Wawin National High School in the Wampar local – level government area was to get the biggest allocation of K11.48 million while Taraka Primary School would get the second biggest amount of K1.6 million.
He said the schools were chosen for funding among 60 in the electorate.
Other big recipients were Igam Primary School with more than K500,000 and Bumayong Lutheran Secondary with K335, 000. The Catholic church-run St Joseph’s Technical college received K335,000.
Huon district education coordinator, Moses Wanga said he would be engaging Waria Eco-Forest to build the schools’ facilities.
