K20,000 HIV/AIDS education competition for teachers start

TEACHERS have a chance of winning K1,000 in HIV education in October.
Twenty of the best entries will each win K1,000 in the competition, which closes on Oct 8.
Teachers will be required to develop a unit of work subjects and write lesson plans with supporting materials such as resource materials, handouts, work sheets, reading materials and others to deliver the unit of work for students to carry out the learning tasks.
Entries include :
l    A well-presented original unit of work including references;
l    A detailed teacher’s lesson plan for the unit of work to be taught;
l    A copy of each teaching and lesson material used;
l    Three examples of students work for the whole unit of work; and
l    For upper primary and secondary levels, only two students work explaining what they did and what they learnt.
The competition by the PNG Business Coalition Against HIV and AIDS and ANZ Bank in partnership with the Education Department is calling for teachers to submit entries demonstrating HIV education and life skills.
Winners will be announced on Dec 1.
