THE Chimbu government and Kerowagi district development authority have committed K100,000 each towards Don Bosco Technical College for the construction of a three-storey business studies building.
Governor Michael Dua and Kerowaghi MP Bari Palma made the commitment when officiating at a ground-breaking ceremony for the construction of the building. Dua said the concept of church and government partnership was one area the provincial government was looking at to strengthen and drive services to the people
“Where there seems to be no government service available in some of the remote communities in our country, the church has been there to provide health and education services and address law and order issues.
“We would like to strengthen that partnership and bring them to newer levels so that their impact to the community can also increase to new levels.”
Dua said the provincial government was committing K100,000 and Kerowaghi DDA, under the leadership of Palma, had committed another K100,000.
Dua said the college had great potential to become a higher learning institution.
