K25,000 for Masta Mak Cup challenge

FRANCHISE owner Kelly Aiyok yesterday confirmed K25,000 for the Masta Mak Rangers Cup rugby league challenge during Easter weekend.
The challenge will be held at Hohola Rugby League Oval in Port Moresby.
Aiyok made this known while witnessing the NCD Governor’s Cup finals over the Christmas weekend.
He said two Port Moresby-based bemobile teams – Masta Mak Rangers, Civpac NCD Vipers – and the Aroma Coast-select side would be included in the challenge.
Aiyok said he intended to bring the game to Hohola to provide opportunities to raw talents to contest for the spots in the Masta City Rangers side.
He said Hohola Oval was the possible venue for the Easter Cup, however, it would depend on the  behaviour of the entire Hohola community.
“This is an opportunity for talents in the suburbs to play against top players from PNG and NCD,” he said.
He added that the NCD Governor’s Cup had shown in the last two days how strong the suburban players were.
It will be a testimony for the grassroots athletes to prove themselves against the country’s top players.
