BSP yesterday presented a cheque for K25,000 to the PNG Squash Federation in support to the 2011 PNG Open which will be staged from July 29-31 at the Sir John Guise Stadium.
This is a major event in the squash federation calendar which anticipates a total of 80 participants from around the country.
The PNG Open will be used as a qualifier to the Pacific Games in New Caledonia from Aug 27 to Sept12.
BSP deputy CEO Robin Fleming when presenting the cheque said that BSP was proud to continue its support of squash and was committed to backing a major squash event.
BSP is the official sponsor for the squash open and Squash Federation president Edmond Pereira thanked the bank for the support.
“We have more than 1,500 members in four clubs nationwide.
“In recent years, squash participation has changed with more locals now embracing the sport, and this is through such support from corporate organisations such as BSP.”
