THE skills and talents of New Ireland will feature on the international arena in Scotland at the World Cup Rugby Touch Championships next month, thanks to the support of the New Ireland provincial government.
The chairman responsible for sports and youth representative in the provincial assembly, Englebert Lutham, presented a cheque for  K25,000 to squad member, Ron Chee, at a small ceremony in Kavieng, witnessed by Governor Sir Julius Chan.
In handing over the cheque, Lutham said the provincial government was happy to support young people who were willing to use their skills to excel in their lives.
He said they would encourage their colleagues to take up similar challenges in future.
The funds will used for his airfares and levy fees for the tournament.
New Ireland Rugby Touch Masters have been the PNG champion three times in 1999, 2000 and 2010 and the international exposure will help the local champions gain experience.
