GOROKA businessman Obed Pupune has invested K6.5 million in a modern building to act as a one-stop shop for the town.
He yesterday opened part of his ‘Asukenato All In One Centre’ at Faniufa on the edge of Goroka.
The two-storey commercial centre houses 12 self-contained suites on the second floor while the ground floor has a fast food outlet, supermarket, wholesale shop, hardware shop and loading bay.
“I will open the fast food outlet and supermarket for business, with others will be opened very soon,” Pupune said.
He started his business with K200 in 1989 and after 29 years built the ‘Asukenato All In One Centre’ .
Asukenato, in the local dialect, is the cricket.
“The investment is a huge boost to grow the conomy of Goroka and Eastern Highlands,” Pupune said. “It lifts our profile. I am proud to see our people coming to get served at the ‘All In One Centre’.”
Pupune, a devout Seventh-day Adventist, said working hard was a principle of God.
“God wants us to work hard to satisfy our needs and wants,” he said. “I believe in this principle and worked hard over the past 29 years.”
