K60,000 allocation allows schools, LLGs to celebrate

THE people of Gumine district, Chimbu celebrated the country’s 35th independence with their own planned activities last week.
Gumine MP and Lands and Physical Planning minister Lucas Dekena gave out K60,000 to schools and community groups in the three local level government areas for their celebrations.
Celebrations at Gum-ine LLG were held at Gumine station, Mul and Amia primary schools while for Kumai-Bomai LLG  was   held  at  Gomgale and Boromil primary schools.  
For Degine LLG, celebrations were staged at Karilmaril station and Kela field on Friday and Saturday respectively.
Dekena said his commitment  was  to ensure the people of Gumine district enjoy and commemorate PNG’s independence an-niversary  meaningfully.
An allocation of K5,000 from the amount was give to the always forgotten Amia Degepaume primary  school on   the border of Gumine and Karamui-Nomane district.
Dekena also took on board Mirane and Neragaima primary schools in Kundiawa-Gembogl and Kerowagi districts respectively because they enrol children from Gumine district.
Dekena also paid out K30,000 to landowners of Kela lands where he proposed to develop into a first highlands sporting stadium during the independence celebrations.
Celebrations for the people of Kumai-Bomai coincided with the opening of Buli foot bridge constructed at the cost of K20,000; Dia water-supply   (K80,000);  Degepaume School (K20,000); Yoya Guest house (K10,000); Kua foot bridge (K20,000) and other support  to  the  LLG.
