K75,000 support for ICT

PNG DataCo Ltd is supporting Southern Highlands’ Imbonggu with a K75,000 information communications technology partnership sponsorship.
According to the State-owned entity, the sponsorship aimed towards helping this year’s Independence Day cultural show and the district’s journey towards digitalisation and virtualisation.
Imbonggu MP Pila Niningi and DataCo chief executive officer Paul Komboi recently signed a memorandum of understanding in Port Moresby to pave the way to progress digitalisation and virtualisation in the district.
As part of the sponsorship, DataCo is committed to:

  • PROVIDE free internet access during the cultural show and opening of the lmbonggu community development centre for news coverage, live streaming purposes, tourism and cultural opportunities;
  • FREE installation of high-speed fibre network to Imbonggu office and the community development centre building; and,
  • FREE installation of wireless local area network in the district administration office.
