K84m for 12 bridges

 A CONTRACT for the construction of 12 bridges along the New Britain highway in West New Britain was signed by Governor-General Sir Michael Ogio last week on behalf of the State.

The construction will be funded by the Asian Development Bank (ADB) under the ADB-funded Bridge Replacement for Improved Rural Access Programme, at the cost of K84 million.

The contract was awarded to Wildcat and Golding Joint Venture.

Company representatives Jeffrey Whiteman and Michael Guthridge signed the contract on behalf of the company.

West New Britain Governor Sasindran Muthuvel and ADB Country Director Marcelo Minc attended the signing ceremony.
