MEMBER for Wapenamanda Miki Kaeok has denied claims of deteriorating road conditions in his electorate.
He said the problem was being addressed through the allocation of a K1 million counterpart funding for the Tsak-Laiagam road and other K1 million for the Wapenamanda-Kompiam stretch. The Asian Development Bank had agreed to fund the road project.
Kaeok said the bank had already provided K500,000 for road clearance work to take place.
He was responding to media reports last week that no effort had been done to address the worsening road situation in Wapenamanda, Enga.
“I am a two-time member of parliament who has done a lot for my people.
“People wanting to play cheap politics should do so at the polls,” Kaeok said.
Local level government councillor Dailyo Kisa also heaped praise on his local MP, saying Kaeok had done so much for the district.
“People should give credit where it is due and not spoiling someone’s reputation for political point-scoring,” he said.
