Kagua Erave keep perfect run

Kagua Erave beat Aporro Mai 1-0 to continue their unbeaten start in the Kumul Petroleum National Soccer League Highlands Conference at the National Sports Institue in Goroka on Saturday.
Leading with nine points, the Southern highlands team head the Highlands Conference with one of the two Western Highlands teams coming close on four points.
Level at 0–0 in the first half, both teams struggled to sustain enough momentum to mount pressure in attack.
Kagua Erave’s Langrap Samel managed to score the winner in the 61st minute.
Coach Steven Mune said his team were eager to continue their winning start.
“I’m looking forward to this weekend,” he said.
“It was a challenging game. We did not play as well as we would have liked. But a win is a win and we’ll take the three points.”
