Kagua-Erave MP challenged

Letters

I READ with envy the never ending successful projects and social services initiated and put in place by the honourable Member for Moresby South for his people, and, I can’t help feeling the need to make comparisons with the Kagua-Erave MP.
I am sure both electorates are given the same amount in DSIP funds. I also believe those funds are accessible more readily than it used to be.
Both MPs are established business men and have more or less the same business and management acumen.
The major difference is the commitment level. Justin Tkatchenko is more committed to his electorate. He is also a proactive leader who does not sit back for things to happen for him.
I urge the Kagua-Erave MP to get off his backside and start committing his time and effort to the electorate.
To date, he is yet to utter a word on the floor of the parliament on issues affecting his people.
The opportune time for him to show his leadership qualities was the recent tribal fight in Sugu Valley which is still raging on unchecked.
The Kagua-Erave electorate is host to a petroleum project. Why is Kagua-Erave still backward even while playing host to this petroleum project?
Is there anything that the electorate can gain out of the petroleum project?
He has to look at alternate sources of funding.
Other MPs are having productive relationships with the resource developers in their electorate.
The Kagua-Erave MP cannot rely on DSIP funds to develop his electorate. The DSIP funds are inconsequential and cannot address the serious lack of development and services in the electorate.
I urge the MP to pick up his act or risk being a one term has-been vice-minister for Sports and Kagua-Erave MP.
