Kagua Erave remain focussed on continuing their positive start in the National Soccer League Highlands Conference.
The franchise got off to a dream start with a 3-0 win over fellow competition rookies Mt Hagen at the National Sports Institute in Goroka on Sunday.
Despite the victory, Kagua Erave are not resting on their laurels, as they look to fire a warning out to the other clubs in the Kumul Petroleum Holdings Limited-sponsored competition.
“Despite the win, we are wary of our opponents in the Highlands Conference,” coach Steven Mune said.
“We are working on our strategies at training.
“I’m not underestimating our opponents.
“They are all tough sides and are aiming to win also.
“But registering our second win this weekend would be good.
“So far, we have no injuries.
“My players are fit to take the field.
“Our midfielder Jorden Kaven missed a lot of one-on-one opportunities in last weekend’s match but we are working on that at training.
“With the services of skipper Niel Hans and midfielder Papalau Awele, we can be a good side.
“We are hoping for a good performance this weekend.
“We just need to work on the areas that need improvement and we will be fine.”
