Kaiwi’s case adjourned for submission
BHOSIP Kaiwi who is charged with torturing his wife to death last July will return to the Waigani Committal Court on May 17 to submit his mitigation.
Magistrate Tracy Ganaii last Friday said she will have a written ruling delivered to Kaiwi’s lawyer today for him to prepare his statement.
Kaiwi, 25, of Jiwaka was remanded at the Bomana Correctional Service.
He was alleged to have tortured his wife, Jenelyn Kennedy, for five days in their home at Korobosea, Port Moresby.
Kennedy was rushed to the emergency ward at the Port Moresby General Hospital but died as a result of continuous beating.
Medical reports obtained from an autopsy revealed that Kennedy died of head injuries and bruised internal organs.

Why is this case taking too long? This case is a serious case and the evidence is there. Are the Magistrates and lawyers waiting for evidence? Is the Police report not made available?
It is better to release him if this gets delayed, else find him guilty and dump him in the Prison!
