Kalinoe: PNG ended six-month-long world expo on high note
PNG Expo commissioner-general and ambassador to Belgium and the European Union Joshua Kalinoe says the six-month-long World Expo 2020 ended on March 31 on a high note for Papua New Guinea (PNG).
“The PNG pavilion delivered a number of forums and events to maximise PNG’s visibility,” he added.
The key events included;
- FIVE investment forums promoting PNG’s agriculture and downstream processing, banking and finance, tourism and connectivity, fisheries and Information Communications Technology (ICT);
- TWO roundtable discussions focusing on education, research and science and innovations and how to add value to PNG’s mass biodiversity and contribute to PNG’s economy;
- A WEEK-LONG cultural performance with PNG reggae Anslom Nakikus as lead up to the PNG National Day on Feb 28;
- A TRIAL exercise on bringing PNG seafood and fresh produce to United Arab Emirates and understanding the market requirements, ease of access and costs; and,
- GOVERNMENT to business seminar focusing on the ICT sector.
Kalinoe said Papua New Guinea also participated in the thematic events organised by the expo.
