Kapris in Madang: Sikani

National, Normal

BANK robbery mastermind and the country’s most wanted escapee William Kapris Nanua is in Madang and police and Correctional Services have been put on high alerted, Correctional Service Commissioner Richard Sikani said last night.
Mr Sikani said they believed Kapris and his accomplices flew out to Madang after escaping from the Bomana jail.
He said the vehicle that they used in the escape dropped off “unwanted passengers” in the city precincts before Kapris and two others headed for the airport to board their flight. This means nine of the 12 who escaped are still in the capital.
Mr Sikani said they would speak with airline officials and airport security about how the escapees would have gone through without being stopped, especially since every travelling passenger should have been asked to produce some form of identification.
“We have informed the Command Centre at the Boroko Police Station that Kapris is in Madang.”
Mr Sikani said he had informed the Madang provincial police commander Tony Wagambie Jnr of the latest intelligence report and police were out at the sea-port blocking off Wewak.
He urged the people of Madang to keep a lookout for escapees who are traveling in three brand new vehicles.
