THE hunt for prison escapee William Kapris has dragged on for the past nine days but police remain confident that they will get him, NCD metropolitan commander Supt Andy Bawa said last night.
“It’s day nine and taking longer than expected but that does not mean that we will halt our search,” he said.
Bawa said police would maintain their search for Kapris and Raphael Walimini, who escaped from Bomana jail last Tuesday.
Fellow escapee Michael Warangu died of gunshot wounds following a confrontation with security forces at Laloki, hours after escaping from Bomana jail.
Police claimed that Kapris might be nursing a gunshot wound from that confrontation.
Bawa again appealed to the public for information that might lead to the recapture of the criminals.
