MISS Pacific Islands Leoshina Kariha believes contestants who attend the regional pageant in Port Moresby in November will be astounded by the cultural diversity, warmth and friendliness of Papua New Guineans.
Kariha was speaking during the sponsorship announcement by Coral Sea Hotels as gold sponsor for the Miss Pacific Islands pageant.
The hotel group will provide accommodation and will be known as – The Home of the Miss Pacific Islands Pageant – with a sponsorship package valued at K167,000.
“We are looking forward to exceeding their expectations of giving them an award-winning experience throughout their stay, and we believe that Coral Sea Hotels will add that element of class to boost the image of our nation,” Kariha said.
During the announcement on Thursday, Coral Sea Hotels area operations manager Matthew Cooper explained that the sponsorship would cover accommodation for the contestants in the Miss PNG pageant (Aug 25-31) and the Miss Pacific Island pageant (Nov 24-30).
The sponsorship also includes the use of the Gateway hotel suites and apartments venue as a media centre for press conferences.
