Kato Ottio trust fund account closing date extended

The closing date for the Kato Ottio Trust Fund account which was to close at mid-day yesterday has been extended.
Papua New Guinea Rugby Football League chairman Sandis Tsaka said due to the overwhelming response received, the closing date would now be Feb 23.
“There are many individuals, groups and organisations requesting for an extension and who want to deposit their contributions,” Tsaka said.
“We really appreciate the generous response hence we’ve extended it to Friday, Feb 23 to give more time to these responses.”
He said the next day would be when the PNG Hunters took on the Brisbane Broncos in a preseason fixture at the National Football Stadium.
“This match will be dedicated to late Kato Ottio and will be fitting that at half time, we will disclose the amount raised and hand over a cheque to late Kato’s family,” Tsaka said.
The trust account was set up to raise funds and fulfil late Kato’s dream of building a house for his mother Joyce.
Tsaka thanked all who have contributed so far.
